In a year of Brexit, migration and global challenges, it is worth looking at the history of Irish women in an international context. The Annual Conference of the Women’s History Association takes place on the 12thand 13thof April on the theme ‘Irish Women’s History in International Contexts’.

Panels highlight the international nature of Irish women’s lives from the eighteenth to the twenty-first century. The keynotes reflect the international theme of the conference. On Friday, Professor Louisa Passerini, PI of the recent ERC-funded Bodies Across Borders: Oral and Visual Memory in Europe and Beyond (BABE) will discuss ‘Women Across European Borders: Visual Memory and Intersubjectivity’.
